Distribution of tunneling times

Alexandra Landsman, ETH Zürich

We compare the main theories of tunneling time against experimental measurements using the Attoclock, over a range of intensities. For this particular way of measuring the time scale associated with tunnelling, the only two approaches, theoretically compatible, that are within our experimental error, are the Larmor time, and the probability distribution of tunneling times constructed using a Feynman Path Integral (FPI) formulation.
