Digital-analog quantum simulations of many-body physics with superconducting circuits

Laura Garc, QUTIS group, University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, Spain

I will introduce a digital-analog method for quantum simulations of many-body physics as developed in the QUTIS group, www.qutisgroup.com, in Bilbao. This novel approach provides a higher degree of scalablitiy than purely digital or purely analog techniques, and it is suitable for implementing quantum simulations of quantum field theories (1), interacting fermions and bosons in condensed matter (2), and quantum chemistry problems (3). I will provide examples related to these topics in the context of superconducting circuits, arguably the most advanced quantum platform for quantum computing and quantum simulations. Finally, I will briefly outline our further developments merging digital with adiabatic quantum computing paradigms.
